The first diamonds were found in India. For several millennia — until the end of the XVII century — the diamond deposits of India was the sole supplier of diamonds, through Baghdad and Egypt get in Europe.
Then, in the late XVII - early XVIII centuries were found deposits of diamonds in Brazil, and in the second half of the nineteenth century were discovered rich alluvial and primary diamond deposits in Africa.
